Palatine Emergency Management Agency
CERT
Dear Mr. Tom Smith and all Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.)
Professional Trainers,
I just wanted to take a moment to formally extend my sense of gratitude for
your and all the other C.E.R.T. trainers' time and expertise - and for what
many of us in the community feel is a crucial program - C.E.R.T. The
C.E.R.T. training at Palatine Village Hall was nothing short of outstanding.
Thank you for giving me and my new friends from the community a chance to
serve our surrounding area. It was an incredible experience that we can
only walk away from the better. As a result of the C.E.R.T. program, most
participants, including myself, plan to do at least 4 very important things:
volunteer in our community as much as possible; 2) attend forthcoming skill
refresher workshops as they are offered to maintain the skills that our
C.E.R.T. trainers have helped us to build; and 3) advance our skills within
the C.E.R.T. program or others under the Citizen's Corps. Council umbrella,
(i.e. Palatine Medical Reserve Corps. [PMRC]); 4) pass on the knowledge
we've gained through C.E.R.T. to as many family members, friends, and
neighbors we can. I also think I speak for all C.E.R.T. participants when I
say how grateful we are for the special time you all created in your lives
so that we may be better prepared to plan and manage an emergency or local
disaster.
Thank you once again, for the giving me and other Palatine residents the
opportunity to serve our fellow citizens.
Sincerely yours,
M. S. L.
P.S. The C.E.R.T. certificates of completion were absolutely stunning.
Unfortunately, I had to return mine for a last name spell
correction but it was so generous and beautiful, I almost did not want to
part with it! :-)
